Waia Lodge was born from a shared dream between two passionate tourism professionals: Keiran Samuels of Santa Aratack Mission and Shebana Daniels, a lifelong lover of the outdoors. What began as a family retreat quickly grew into a vision to share the pristine beauty of the Kamuni Creek with the world. Named after the Lokono word for “white clay,” Waia represents the nature, tranquillity, and culture built into every experience. From trail biking to blackwater swims, every detail of the lodge is designed to celebrate nature, protect the environment, and connect guests to the cultural soul of the area.
Just 25 km from Georgetown, we offer the perfect escape, close enough for a quick getaway, yet far enough to feel completely immersed in nature.
Every visit supports the people of Santa Aratack Mission through jobs, skills training, and meaningful cultural partnerships that uplift the community.
Built with sustainability in mind, we protect its pristine surroundings through low‑impact design, responsible practices, and a deep respect for the land.
For the land, for culture, for family, and for community. Whether you’re a traveller, tour operator, government partner, or nature enthusiast, we invite you to be a part of this journey with us.
